What is DUO authentication and do I need it to connect to DML resources?

Answer

DUO is a tool that provides an extra level of security for your Georgetown account.  It uses a process called two-factor authentication.  Certain designated groups within the Georgetown community are required to enroll in DUO.    If you are a member of one of those groups* and are encountering DML resource access issues please note:
  • Until enrolled, non-DUO users will be blocked from all Georgetown accounts, including DML library resources, by the University Information Services (UIS) Department.
  • Find enrollment directions and help on the UIS DUO enrollment page.
*To determine if you are required to enroll in DUO, please contact the UIS Service Desk.
